The day after Christmas we headed to the coast! We went from PERFECT weather in the city (mid 70's & sunny) to considerably higher temps in the 90's at the coast only a short 1 hour (or so) drive away. We parked at a fancy resort and entered the beach from there...it opened to a gorgeous coastline with black sand, warm blue water and a day I won't soon forget. We rented 4-wheelers and enjoyed riding up and down the beach. The kids played in the sand and water and it didn't take long before their cheeks were rosey & sun-kissed (not something you think of when leaving No. Cal in December with 40 degree daytime temps!?) We topped off the day by eating at one of my parents favorites restaurants...chicken fingers for the kids and sandwiches for the adults. Yummy day!

I have never been 4 wheeling and always wanted to do it. Especially on a beach like that. What an AWESOME experience.

Now that look fun! We love to ride the quads when we are home with Jarom's parents in Central Oregon. Jarom and I would like to get one, but it just is not on the agenda right now, some day.
